Master Bedroom Makeover

Another room we finished a while back but I've never gotten around to posting is our master bedroom.

This room was pretty easy. It just needed a fresh coat of paint, white trim, and our decor. And just like in the rest of the house, we're also replacing all the outlets and outlets covers (going from pale green to white) and the door knobs (from brass to oil-rubbed bronze).

I'm not showing you the master bathroom, because that's one of our "big" projects for this house. There are only 3 - yay! Master Bathroom first. Then finish the basement. Then build a deck. No big deal. Since we spent 5 years renovating every single room in our old house, 3 projects seem reasonable to me. Call me crazy.

Without futher adieu, here is the spot in which I lay my head!

Before:

(No disrespect to the previous homeowners, but their taste in bedding... yikes on bikes.)

After:

And if anyone has tips for getting that freshly made bed look whilst using a duvet cover, let me know. It's comfy as heck, but the bed never has the crisp hotel look. Yanno what I mean?

  1. Wow, the difference is crazy! I love the new light walls and how cheery it looks now. And I agree, the old owners bedding... looks like a crazy owl face. :P

  2. Love the paint color- our color scheme is very similar but our blue is too saturated. What color did you use? No help on the duvet...sorry! With 2 dogs, a duvet is a distant dream!

  3. The happiest people I know are those who are fully convinced in their own minds that honoring the sacred ordinary gives them a reason to
rejoice and be glad in the blessings of each day.
The most significant gifts in life are often those easily overlooked.

  4. You also need to keep in mind the style of your kitchen so the tiles you select will complement the rest of the room
According to Tilemuralstore.com, some people often choose tile murals for their backsplashes because they're different and quickly transform the
overall look of a kitchen. But the list doesn't stop here. There are many other quick and clever ways of updating your kitchen backsplash.

  5. We are able to initiate these in many ways, from giving someone a bear hug when they’re feeling down in the dumps,
smiling at a stranger to acknowledge and show respect for their humanness,
to taking the time out to encourage a family member or friend going through a difficult period in life.
