When we bought our house, I had a vision for Anna's nursery. I even bought paint in April even though we didn't move until May. I KNEW what I wanted for her room.
Until I saw it all come together, and I hated it. It just didn't feel like her.
So about 6 weeks ago, we decided to scrap the original plan and go with something different. The room I had envisioned was too dark, and her room is not dark. She's got amazing windows and a cute little window seat, and I wanted the room to feel bright, fresh, airy, and princess-y without being too princess-y. Like Princess Kate instead of Princess Sofia. Toddler moms can feel me on this one.
In the midst of Anna's sickness, the nursery plans obviously took a back burner, but toward the end of our first stay in the hospital, I decided it had to be finished. So I sent Jon home for a day to hang things, and my mom stepped in and finished painting. And the result? A soft and bright room for our sweet girl to lay her head. It's simple but it's perfect.
And just for fun, here is the before picture from when we bought the house:
And here it is today:
I love love love it! It's girly. It's a little bit vintage! It's pretty!
